The Dublin bin row rages on as residents were left in the dark as to whether their bins will be collected next week as uncertainty grows over the privatised Greyhound service. Bins were collected yesterday from those homes who had not signed up to the service, despite being told that Thursday was the deadline for sign-ups.

During a heated debate in the Dail yesterday, Fianna Fail deputy leader Eamon O Cuiv warned that the city would become a “cesspool” of waste if the incident was not dealt with.
